Have you ever experienced not being able to sleep or being restless because something is bothering you? The kind where you don't know what to do but you also want to stop worrying because you know that you have no control over the events and there is nothing you can do about it?
Many people go through this situation and I can say that I always feel this way. It is said in the Bible:
My husband and I are going through something this week in our business. Our payroll fund is exhausted and it happens to be a holiday this week so we need to pay our employees double pay. We have 40 construction workers and half of them came in. That means we paid almost all of our employees that day. I am a worrier and that is what I pray will go away. I worried a lot. I was so stressed that I was in a bad mood for almost half of the day.
I thought about everything. What about next week if we still haven't been charged for the projects we're working on? What about this week, where will we get the salaries for the employees? What will we do? Questions that I asked myself repeatedly yesterday. It's hard.. It's tiring. But my husband, even though I could feel that he was stressed too, I saw that he was just quiet.
I asked my husband, "What are we going to do?" Then he said, "The Lord will provide."
I fell silent. Yes, the Lord will provide. I started a silent prayer, I told Him that He would take care of it. We can't do it alone but He can. I will trust in Him. I will trust in His power. I will trust in His love because I know that He knows everything. That everything that happens to us is known by Him and is written in His book. I should not be afraid because the Lord knows and He will be with us every day of our lives.
It's worrying.. It's scary.. It's scary to think about things that haven't happened yet. It's scary to think that we have no control. But that shouldn't overcome us because the Lord is in control of everything. He is the one who knows things from the time we were born until our last day on this earth so we should give Him our complete trust. Truly, the complexity of the world and human life is beyond our strength and mind. Only the Lord knows and everything that has happened, is happening and will happen is recorded in His book and it can never be changed, no matter how hard our minds and plans are in a situation.
To all who are feeling this way today, please join me in a short prayer.
Dear Lord, our Father, thank You for the wonderful day that You have given us. Thank You for the opportunity to see and experience the life that we are living today. Lord, forgive us if we are filled with fear and worry about what is happening to us. Help us to see Your power and love that are always free for us. Help us to remember that nothing is beyond You. That You know everything that happens to us, so instead of worrying, we should trust in You. You are our strength and our life. We raise all of this in Jesus' name, Amen.
Thank you very much. May the Holy Spirit be with you and fill you with love. May the troubles in your life be overcome with trust and love.
