Have you ever gone through something in your life that was just so painful that you'd find yourself asking why it happened to you? You just want to wake up and hope it was all a bad dream? It’s hard to accept, but it hurts because that’s the reality you’re facing now? It feels like there’s nowhere to turn because you think you’re all alone because of what happened to you? As the Bible says:
I wanted to share what happened to a colleague of mine last time because he went through something that even I don't know how I would react if it happened to me. His wife was murdered and he was also stabbed by his own relative. At that time, he felt so much grief because he had lost his wife in an unacceptable way that even though he felt pain from being stabbed, nothing could hurt him more than the intensity of the pain he felt when his wife died.
He said that he still remembers everything that happened. He remembers his wife's screams and how they ran from the person who wanted to kill her. He also remembers how his relative looked completely possessed by an evil spirit because he could really see in his eyes the desire to kill.
He remembers all that and he just can't forget it.
While he was recounting the events to us, I felt a profound sadness. My spouse and I prayed for him because I knew that only the Lord could help him in that moment.
No person or words could ease his pain except for the Word of the Lord.
I was unable to speak at that time because I knew that during that period, it would be better for him to express the pain he was feeling.
To be honest, it was my first time encountering an acquaintance who went through such a heavy trial in life, so I felt at a loss for words because I understood that whatever I said, he was still in a stage where his mind was closed due to the pain of what had happened. The only thing I could share with him was my prayers. I believe that the Lord saw the suffering he experienced during that time and I also believe that the Lord will embrace him and that he will overcome it with His help. I also have faith that the Lord will provide justice for his family. His grandmother, who took care of him since he lost his mother, has just passed away, making the challenges he is facing incredibly overwhelming. The Lord sees this and I know He will not abandon him.
It is difficult to understand the painful events in our lives. There are times when we truly feel like we want all the trials to end. The pain we experience can be so intense, and it may seem that no one understands us, leaving us feeling perpetually alone. However, God does not sleep; He is always with us. In moments when we feel that He is silent, He is doing something good in our lives. It might be hard to understand since we can't really grasp God's plans and thoughts, but we need to trust Him. No matter what hardships and pain we go through, He's with us. He watches over us and embraces us when we feel all alone. We just need to open our hearts and minds to accept His love.
Sometimes we get blinded by pain and the bad situation we're in, making us not feel His presence, but He’s there, He sees everything.
The Lord is always watching. He sees what's in our hearts and minds. He knows about every pain we feel, every hurt we try to hide from others. He’s aware of all of that, and there's nothing we can keep from Him. All we need to do is approach Him, talk to Him, and if it really hurts, we can tell Him everything. Even if we cry in front of Him, He will accept that with all His glory. We won't be embarrassed in front of Him because He never looks at what’s on the outside, but rather at what truly lies in our hearts and souls.
So if you feel that you are alone, and no one understands the pain you are feeling, join me in a short prayer:
Our beloved Father in Heaven, please hear our hearts that are filled with sorrow. Help us in our struggles. Do not forsake us; instead, embrace us especially in the times when we feel alone and in pain. We long for Your embrace; help us to feel it. Do not allow bitterness and darkness to overshadow our lives. Let us see the light of Your love. Thank You very much, Lord; You are our refuge. We love You, and all of this we lift up to the might name of Your Son Jesus, Amen.
Thank you for reading. To God be all the glory!
